The pages of this book could be summed up in a single phrase: believe in the power of prayer.

It may seem unnecessary, given Jesus' promise in the Gospel: "Whatever you ask the Father in my name, I will grant it to you," to resort to lengthy explanations to convince us of the power of prayer.

However, perhaps it would be helpful to think with Jean Lafrance that praying is to confess that God is not obligated to grant us what we ask, even though He desires to give us everything.

The power of prayer is presented to us as a prayerful journey that goes from the prayer of supplication to the liberation of the Spirit who, imprisoned within us, wishes for the glory of the Risen One to shine through us.
