Diatomaceous Earth is an ecological insecticide-parasiticide, 100% natural, mineral product. It is available in the form of fine powder (like talcum), gray in color. Under the microscope, its grains are sharp and resemble small broken glass shards.
Its mode of action is mechanical, as it easily adheres to the bodies of walking insects, cutting their waxy coating. This results in their dehydration and ultimately their death after a few days. An important advantage is that insects cannot develop immunity due to the absence of chemical substances.
- Suitable for: ants, lepidopteran caterpillars, coleopteran larvae, leafminers, fleas, lice, bedbugs, mites, ticks, cockroaches, snails, slugs, spiders, termites, silverfish, centipedes, flies, earwigs, aphids, thrips, borers, and many more.
It is suitable and safe for use in homes, warehouses, crops, even in vegetable gardens or on pets. It is non-toxic to humans, warm-blooded mammals, and the environment.
