Guys, what can I say... Top-notch. Build quality, speed, stability.. It truly offers an incredible experience. I had many reservations about whether I should get the 13 or the 15. However, I got the 13 for both practical and financial reasons and I don't regret it.

Also, one more thing worth mentioning, because some time ago I was really torn between a Mac mini and a MacBook, in the base models, with the only difference between them being the -2 GPU cores found in the MacBook, a year ago I had bought the Mac mini and now in the end I got the MacBook too.

If you ask me today what I would choose? If I could turn back time.. I would choose MacBook a thousand times over. The freedom it offers is priceless and now I no longer see a reason to have a system that locks me to one location.

You simply leave the MacBook aside on the table like you would with a desktop, you have an extra monitor/monitors in your main space, + the screen of the MacBook itself, and if you want to relax or need to leave, you just take it with you and continue your projects. Even if you're not the kind of person who would take it outside the house, the fact that you can continue your activities in another room, in bed, or on the balcony and change scenery gives a huge advantage.

I'm mentioning all this for people who are in the same position I was in and are deciding between the two.

What a wild beast this is! I thought, instead of giving €600 for a relatively good laptop, let me give €200 more to get a MacBook, and from the day I got it I haven't regretted it for a moment. On the positive side, it's beautiful, super lightweight, the screen and speakers are out of this world, I can sit and work on it for endless hours and not even notice. As for the Apple ecosystem, I won't even comment—it works perfectly among all my devices and I can do things that would take me much longer on Windows. The trackpad is wonderful; I couldn't work without a mouse before and now I don't even want to touch one again. The battery easily lasts seven hours with light work, and once you realize how much easier Mac OS is to use, you won't want to touch Windows again. Now for the negatives, I was a bit hesitant because it didn't run a program I wanted, but I've downloaded VMware software and have a tiny version of Windows and it works relatively well, so my work gets done. Since it doesn't have fans, it's not suitable for working in hot environments or placing it on your lap in bed and working, because it heats up. I would have liked the screen to be a bit bigger, but other than that, I can't say it bothers me.

Amazing machine. Incredible speed, beautiful and flawless operating system. A jewel, very thin and very light. I got the 512 SSD and 16GB RAM version and I think it's by far the best deal currently available in laptops for its price. If anyone tells you that for the same money you can get a Windows laptop that is "much better," ask them if that laptop ever leaves the socket, because the chronic problem of Windows laptops (I had one at this price and it was indeed powerful) is that their battery barely lasts 1.5-2 hours without charging, and if it's not plugged in while working, the laptop's performance drops by 35-50%.

First of all, the MacBook has an incredible battery, with 25-30 tabs open in Safari (many of them YouTube, which consumes a lot of energy), simultaneously 5-6 heavy Canva tabs open, and 2-3 more apps (mail, Apple Music, chatgpt, and whatever else extra), it consumes 20% battery in about 2.5 hours of continuous use with brightness at about 50-60%. Practically, it gives about 12-14 hours of pure operation with the usage I mentioned above. I haven't happened to use it while charging, and I recommend avoiding it as much as possible since it significantly reduces battery health.

This M4 is incredibly fast and powerful, you can easily do tasks that MacBook Pros do, with the only difference in performance being the battery, which is nominally smaller, and that the Pros have a fan, so they can handle heavy tasks like Blender, Photoshop, After Effects, video editing, etc. for longer. You can easily do these tasks with this Air, but at some point, you'll see its performance decrease at a certain time and workload, if you're into editing. This hasn't happened to me, as I haven't noticed it getting even a little warm, except for 1-2 times during charging, which is absolutely normal.

The screen is extremely good, clear-crystal, very close to that of the Pros, it's just LCD instead of mini LED, and it's 60Hz instead of 120Hz, things that personally didn't bother me, coming from a MacBook Pro M3 Pro. If you're a serious content creator and your budget allows, MacBooks are generally the only way to go as their screens have the best and most accurate color reproduction.

The charger that came in the box was 35W with two type-c ports, maybe a bit annoying if you want to fast charge the MacBook which supports up to 70W fast charging. This problem is solved by buying a charger like Anker 65W+ for 30-40 euros.

Finally, it's incredibly thin and light, which makes it not only beautiful but also incredibly convenient for transport and use in tighter spaces.

I think if you have the budget and all the above are reasons that matter to you, then it's a no-brainer purchase. Plus, as is well known, it's an Apple product which means it will receive all the new updates for at least 5-6 years and will have truly great longevity. There are many people who still do their work with 8-9 year old MacBooks, and are still considering whether it's worth upgrading, because what they have still fully covers their needs. Certainly, though, it's not a laptop for gaming.

Tip: the sky blue color is very close to silver visually, I went with silver, while the midnight (dark blue that is close to black) leaves a lot of fingerprints and needs to be cleaned quite often.

I’m writing this review after 6 months of use.

I bought the MacBook for my master’s degree. For Office programs I had to pay extra, because their own Word-like program (“Text”) is really awkward to use.

The other day, while I was writing my paper, the computer froze. I restarted it and then I couldn’t log back in. The password I enter every day was suddenly considered “incorrect.” I had to reset it, but that means everything gets erased and the original version of the system has to be installed, and then all the updates from scratch.
And all this happened 72 hours before my paper was due. I have never experienced such stress. I started at 9 p.m. and managed to set it up from scratch only at 1 p.m. It really drained me.

I regretted not getting a simple Windows computer.
If you work with numbers or accounting software, better stay away.
If you want gaming, not even as a joke.

This laptop is only for email, browsing, and enjoying their beautiful but limited ecosystem.
For work — especially as an accountant — it did not suit me at all.
Overall, I feel like I wasted my money for nothing.

Update after one year of use:

Unfortunately, the same problem happened again. This time the computer “gave out” just 24 hours before my master’s exam, causing huge stress once again.

I should note that I use exclusively Microsoft Office programs and this is not due to any virus or third-party software. The problem seems to exist on its own: it suddenly locks up and does not allow access to the system.

A colleague of mine with a MacBook had the same issue too, except that she has now gotten used to it. Personally, after this experience, I still believe it is not the right choice for demanding professional or academic use.
