The Bohrcraft DIN 1869 Type N extra-long twist drill has a diameter of 12 mm and is made of heat-treated, ground HSS-G steel. The right-hand cutting direction and 20–30° helix angle are combined with additional grinding on the bearing surface and a reduced web, in accordance with DIN 1412 C, for easier cutting, lower cutting forces and faster drilling.

Suitable for unalloyed and alloyed steels with Rm 800 N/mm², heat-treated steels with Rm 1100 N/mm², non-ferrous materials such as copper and brass, as well as plastics. Cooling is recommended during drilling, and the cutting force should be adjusted to the stability of the drill. Suitable for use with drills, stationary machines and workbenches.
