Internet access is provided through the built-in modem, which uses the mobile phone network by installing a SIM card. The SIM card must have an active connection with a data package.
It supports VDSL2, which is the most modern internet connection technology. It offers higher download and upload speeds compared to ADSL2+ (usually up to 50Mbps and 5Mbps) and can support triple play services (TV, telephony, internet). A corresponding connection technology from the provider is required.
It transmits signal on two frequencies, 2.4 & 5GHz. It offers higher speeds compared to single band and allows more devices to connect. The 2.4GHz frequency is the most widespread and has a long range. The 5GHz provides higher speed than 2.4GHz but is more sensitive to obstacles (e.g. walls) that reduce its range. This difference, as well as its more limited use, helps it have less interference from other networks.
With MAC address filtering, it allows specific devices to connect based on their unique MAC address, blocking any device with a MAC address that has not been set as accepted.
