It is installed as the first stage in dual- or triple-filtration systems and helps protect the second-stage filter from limescale. It is compatible only with Doulton HCP, HCS, HIP, HCP DUO, HIP DUO and ECO FAST units.

The filter is installed on the main water supply and can be fitted with either side facing up. Replacement is recommended at least once a year.
