How to Use It
Liquid Resin Art is designed to be easy to use even for users with minimal/no experience to achieve quality results. It is important for users to familiarize themselves with the following information & to follow the instructions correctly, especially regarding working temperatures, weighing & mixing. Unsatisfactory results are almost always due to inappropriate ambient temperatures or improper weighing or mixing.
Curing Time
Liquid Resin Art takes several days to reach full hardness. Depending on the ambient temperature, the surface will become dry within 24 hours. During the first 24 hours, it is essential to keep the surface away from dust & dirt. For small projects, simply cover the surface with a clean container. For larger projects (floors), you should minimize airborne dust as much as possible. Once the surface feels dry to the touch, it is less susceptible to dust, but it is still quite soft and should be avoided from touching. The final curing time depends on the ambient temperature. At 25°C, wait 48 hours before using the surface, as the resin's hardness will continue to develop over several days. Whenever possible, increasing the ambient temperature is recommended to achieve complete curing of the resin before regular use.
Mixing Ratio
The Liquid Resin Art epoxy resin must be mixed with the epoxy hardener in a ratio of 2 parts resin to 1 part hardener by weight. When working with epoxy resins, it is essential to follow the mixing ratios. Incorrect ratios result in only partial curing of the system. Never add extra hardener to speed up the curing time. Epoxy systems do not work that way. Use a digital scale to accurately measure the resin, then weigh the appropriate amount of hardener. Try to be precise (within 1-2 grams), especially when mixing smaller quantities.
Mixing Instructions
Accurately weigh the resin and hardener ratio into a container with a flat bottom and mix with a stirring stick. Stir the mixture for 3 minutes, ensuring that no material remains on the sides or bottom of the container that has not been mixed. Once you finish mixing in the container, it is good practice to transfer the mixture to a second, clean mixing container. Repeat the mixing for another 3 minutes using a new stirring stick. This method eliminates the risk of using an amount of resin from the bottom of the container that has not been properly mixed.
