The Red Dragon or Grand Grimoire, as it is alternatively called, is perhaps the most dark and notorious grimoire of the European magical tradition, which refers to the art of summoning spirits — celestial, aerial, earthly, and infernal — and making pacts with demonic forces, particularly with Lucifer himself!
The book is presented here in its rarest and most authentic form: Le Véritable Dragon Rouge (« The True Red Dragon »), along with the text La Poule Noire (« The Black Hen »), exactly as indicated in the historical title.
This edition is the first complete Greek translation of this early version of the work (without later additions that often alter its structure and style). It is based on an extremely scarce original, with a photographic copy (facsimile) and a carefully rendered Greek version, so that the reader has a historical document of 19th-century practical magic, where the ritual Solomonian form (circle, seals, sigil) coexists with folk practices circulating in period publications.
The volume includes an extensive introduction (historical context, origin, dissemination, relationships with other texts, hierarchy of spirits), the translation of the full corpus, an appendix of images, and a bibliography — a publication aimed at study, documentation, and philological accuracy.
Important note: The book is available exclusively for historical/philological research. Some excerpts of the grimoire tradition describe harmful or dangerous practices and are not intended for application.
