Silicones - Sealants

Features / Advantages:

• Single component, ready to use
• Flexible and elastic

As a sealant:

• Cures without forming bubbles
• Has very good adhesion to most construction materials
• Has good mechanical strength
• Has good resistance to aging and environmental effects
• Has consistency that does not sag

As an adhesive:

• Provides bonding without stabilizing the bonded parts
• Absorbs vibrations and shocks

Applications:

• Used as a joint sealant for horizontal and vertical joints, sound insulation of pipes between concrete and protective casings.
• Also used between partitions, to seal seams, in metal and wooden constructions, for ventilation structures and many more.
• Suitable for indoor and outdoor applications on window sills, steps, thresholds, baseboards, prefabricated elements and many others.

Limitations:

• Use in roof applications - Always use in combination with mechanical fasteners.
• Use in combination with mechanical fastening for glass surfaces or large mirrors (> 0.5m² total area).
• For heavy objects, provides temporary support until the adhesive dries.
• In high temperature areas, it may darken under UV exposure, but this does not affect performance.
• Do not seal the edges of mirrors / plastic covers until the adhesive has cured.
• Paintability: Check compatibility with the specific paint for the first time before painting large surfaces.
• Do not use on surfaces that release oils or plasticizers.
• It is the user's responsibility to determine suitability of use. In case of doubt, contact the Technical Services Department for advice.
• Do not use as part of a glazing system.
• Do not use in aquarium construction. Use AQUA MATE.
• Do not use in combination with pitch or asphalt. Use WEATHER MATE.
• Do not use in combination with undiluted bleach, as this may cause product discoloration.
• Not suitable for use in or around chlorinated water.
• May yellow in the dark.
