The Insta360 Black Mist Filter for Ace Pro 2 / Ace Pro is a creative filter that does diffusion, meaning it softens highlights and reduces the digital “harshness” of the image, giving a more cinematic, dreamy, let’s say, and natural look. The filter softens bright light sources, reduces contrast, and makes skin look smoother without losing detail, which makes it ideal for night street, portraits, neon, city lights, and generally for shots where you want a more organic atmosphere. In daytime portrait shots it will give a beautiful dreamy look that feels like a movie or film.
Its build is lightweight, with a small profile, and it clips securely onto the lens without affecting the camera’s balance. The glass is good quality and does not create distortions or blur, it simply adds a controlled soft glow to highlights.
On the positive side, I’d say it instantly gives a more cinematic mood, reduces harsh reflections, makes skin tones more pleasant, and helps a lot in night shots where lights usually “blow out” the frame. It is also scratch-resistant and does not affect sharpness as much as cheap diffusion filters, but it is not top-quality either, the kind we would buy for DSLR/mirrorless.
On the negative side, in my opinion the effect can become excessive in scenes with many lights or very strong contrast, and it does not suit purely professional shots where you want absolute clarity. It is not a filter for all conditions — it is a tool for a specific aesthetic result.
Personally, I had this and the star filter together with the Ace Pro 2 ultimate bundle through a very good offer that was running on Skroutz 4 months ago. Individually, they are worth buying for up to 23 euros each and not more.

Το Insta360 Black Mist Filter για Ace Pro 2 / Ace Pro είναι ένα δημιουργικό φίλτρο που κάνει diffusion, απαλύνει δηλαδή, τα highlights και μειώνει την ψηφιακή “σκληράδα” της εικόνας, δίνοντας πιο κινηματογραφικό, ονειρικό ας πούμε και φυσικό look. Το φίλτρο μαλακώνει τις φωτεινές πηγές, μειώνει το contrast και κάνει το δέρμα να φαίνεται πιο smooth χωρίς να χάνεται η λεπτομέρεια, κάτι που το κάνει ιδανικό για night street, πορτρέτα, neon, city lights και γενικά για λήψεις όπου θες πιο οργανική ατμόσφαιρα. Σε λήψεις πορτραίτου κατά τη μέρα θα δώσει ένα όμορφο dreamy look που θυμίζει ταινία ή φιλμ.
Η κατασκευή του είναι ελαφριά, με μικρό προφίλ και κουμπώνει σταθερά πάνω στον φακό χωρίς να επηρεάζει το balance της κάμερας. Το γυαλί είναι καλής ποιότητας και δεν δημιουργεί παραμορφώσεις ή θολούρα, απλώς προσθέτει ένα ελεγχόμενο soft glow στα highlights.
Στα θετικά του θα έλεγα πως δίνει άμεσα πιο κινηματογραφικό mood, μειώνει harsh reflections, κάνει τα skin tones πιο ευχάριστα και βοηθάει πολύ σε νυχτερινές λήψεις όπου τα φώτα συνήθως “καίνε” το κάδρο. Είναι επίσης ανθεκτικό σε γρατζουνιές και δεν επηρεάζει την οξύτητα όσο τα φθηνά diffusion φίλτρα αλλά δεν είναι και τοπ ποιότητας που θα παίρναμε για dlsr/mirroless.
Στα αρνητικά, το εφέ μπορεί να γίνει κατά τη γνώμη μου υπερβολικό σε σκηνές με πολλά φώτα ή πολύ έντονο contrast, και δεν ταιριάζει σε καθαρά επαγγελματικές λήψεις όπου θες απόλυτη ευκρίνεια. Δεν είναι φίλτρο για όλες τις συνθήκες — είναι εργαλείο για συγκεκριμένο αισθητικό αποτέλεσμα.
Προσωπικά, αυτό και το star filter τα είχα μαζί με το ultimate bundle της Ace Pro 2 μέσω μιας πολύ καλής προσφοράς που έτρεχε στο Skroutz πριν 4 μήνες. Μεμονωμένα αξίζει η αγορά τους μέχρι και 23 ευρώ έκαστο και όχι πιο πάνω.
Έρχονται με θήκη μεταφοράς, ελάχιστα μεγαλύτερη από τα φίλτρα, και πανάκι καθαρισμού.
