Description

If your Wi-Fi needs greater range: The FRITZ!Repeater 1700 extends your Wi-Fi network with Wi-Fi 7 and is optimized for use with the FRITZ!Box. Wi-Fi 7 provides fast and reliable Wi-Fi, while the intelligent FRITZ! Mesh ensures the best possible connection.

Wi-Fi 7 – the new generation of Wi-Fi with multiple gigabits!

Wi-Fi 7 offers top Wi-Fi speeds and even more powerful connections. Benefit from high data rates even when multiple devices are active simultaneously. This makes Wi-Fi 7 ideal for real-time applications such as gaming, virtual reality, or video calls. Thanks to Mesh Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi 7 integrates perfectly into the FRITZ! ecosystem – all wireless devices work together excellently and provide you with top speeds.

The FRITZ!Repeater 1700 supports Wi-Fi 7 on the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands and allows speeds of up to 3.6 Gbit/s.

Mesh Wi-Fi with FRITZ! – the smart Wi-Fi

Wi-Fi, but smarter: In Mesh, FRITZ! devices work together so you can enjoy your Wi-Fi: The FRITZ!Repeater adopts the settings from the FRITZ!Box when connecting to the internet, and Mesh technology intelligently directs your wireless devices to optimize performance - automatically and reliably.

With Mesh, you enjoy high speeds while browsing, streaming, or gaming. Instead of waiting for stunning 4k streaming and your favorite music, your media will be waiting for you.

Connected also via LAN

With the gigabit LAN port, the FRITZ!Repeater 1700 integrates network-compatible devices into the home network – ideal for IP cameras and gaming consoles, for example.

Alternatively, the FRITZ!Repeater can be connected to the router via a LAN cable. This means that even greater distances can be easily bridged.

Simplicity and Ease

All it takes is the press of a button to configure the FRITZ!Repeater 1700: The FRITZ!Repeater and the FRITZ!Box connect automatically and the extender adopts the Wi-Fi settings of the FRITZ!Box. That’s it!

If you want to adjust a setting later, the user-friendly interface is accessible via mobile device or computer.

Easily get greater Wi-Fi range for your home – with the FRITZ!Repeater 1700!

Ethernet Ports

The ethernet cable ports available on the device. Devices can be connected to these ports with corresponding cables and have access to the local network of the house as well as the internet.

For example, a printer can be accessed by all other devices on the network.

Wi-Fi Features

Frequency
Dual Band (2.4 & 5GHz)

Frequency

The frequencies in which the Wi-Fi Repeater can transmit.

2. Additional frequencies allow for greater speed on more devices.

3. Most transmit on one (2.4GHz) or two (2.4&5GHz) frequencies.

Dual Band (2.4 & 5GHz)
They transmit signals on two frequencies. They offer higher speeds compared to single and can connect more devices. The 2.4Ghz frequency is the most common and usually has a large range, but it is often congested by neighboring Wi-Fi signals, making communication between devices more difficult. The 5Ghz provides faster speeds than the 2.4Ghz, but it is more sensitive to obstacles (e.g. walls) that reduce its range. This difference, as well as its more limited use, helps to reduce interference from other networks.
Maximum WLAN Speed
3600 Mbps

Maximum WLAN Speed

Theoretical maximum speed that the repeater can offer cumulatively to connected devices. The maximum speed it can offer to a single device may be lower.
Wi-Fi Generation
Wi‑Fi 7

Wi-Fi Generation

The Wi-Fi generation is a user-friendly separation that indicates the capabilities of Wi-Fi devices (maximum wireless connection speed, number of devices that can connect, frequencies they can transmit on).
IEEE Networking Standards
802.11 b/g/n, 802.11a, 802.11ac, 802.11ax, 802.11be

IEEE Networking Standards

The networking standards describe the frequencies and maximum speeds supported by the device. This information is also reflected in the more user-friendly Wi-Fi generations, such as Wi-Fi 5 (IEEE 802.11ac) or Wi-Fi 6 (IEEE 802.11ax).

802.11 b/g/n

The older Wi-Fi standard, known as Wi-Fi 4, is significantly slower than Wi-Fi 5 (IEEE 802.11ac) and Wi-Fi 6 (IEEE 802.11ax).

It is recommended for use with few devices and for applications that do not require high speeds. For most users, it would be preferable to choose a Wi-Fi 5 or 6 device depending on their needs.

Each newer generation is compatible with devices that support a previous one.

802.11a

The older Wi-Fi standard is even older than Wi-Fi 4 (IEEE 802.11 b/g/n) which is significantly slower than Wi-Fi 5 (IEEE 802.11ac) and Wi-Fi 6 (IEEE 802.11ax).

All subsequent generations are compatible with devices that support a previous one, so it is recommended that the repeater also supports more modern standards.

802.11ac
The most common Wi-Fi standard, known as Wi-Fi 5, is significantly faster than Wi-Fi 4 (IEEE 802.11 b/g/n). 2. Wi-Fi 5 can currently meet the needs of most users, but there is now the next generation Wi-Fi 6 (IEEE 802.11ax) which offers the ability to connect many more devices to serve the increasingly smart devices in a home. 3. Each newer generation is compatible with devices that support a previous one.
802.11ax
The latest Wi-Fi standard, also known as Wi-Fi 6, offers speeds up to 40% faster than Wi-Fi 5 (IEEE 802.11ac), coordinates communication with connected devices to consume less battery, and performs better in environments with multiple Wi-Fi devices. Ideal for homes with many smart devices. Compatible with all previous generations.

Features & Functions

Mesh
No

Mesh

What is Mesh WiFi?

Mesh technology eliminates the “dead” spots in the home by creating a single network with the same name (SSID) and password everywhere.

Why is it important?

  • Automatic switching (Seamless Roaming): As you move around the house, your phone automatically connects to the strongest signal without dropping the connection (e.g. during video calls or gaming).

  • Maximum speed: Unlike simple extenders, Mesh maintains consistently high speeds without losses.

***Note: For it to work, your Router must also support the same Mesh technology (e.g. EasyMesh, OneMesh).
WPS Button
No

WPS Button

Allows quick and easy connection of devices to WiFi without entering a password, by pressing a button on the router and the extender.

Installation

Socket
Yes

Socket

It connects directly to the power outlet without cables, offering a compact and easy solution for quickly extending WiFi indoors.
Desktop
No

Desktop

It is placed on a surface (desk, shelf) and usually offers better performance and coverage thanks to larger antennas and more powerful hardware.
Outdoor
No

Outdoor

Designed for outdoor use, with resistance to weather conditions (humidity, dust, temperature), ideal for yards, gardens, or commercial spaces.
