The Tivoly Short Cylindrical Drill Metal DIN 338 is designed for drilling metals and has a cylindrical shank. It is made from HSS-E with 5% cobalt, has been heat-treated and features a special Blade coated surface treatment, which helps dissipate heat and evacuate chips.

The point angle is 135°, and the helix angle is 20–30°. For the 2 mm diameter, additional grinding on the bearing surface and a reduced chisel edge make cutting easier and reduce drilling force. It is suitable for unalloyed and low-alloy steels, heat-treated steels, austenitic stainless steels 304L and 316L, non-ferrous materials such as aluminium alloys, copper and bronzes, as well as various sintered materials, except for parts made from steel powders or metal carbides. It is recommended for drill presses and stationary equipment, while use with portable electric or pneumatic drills is intended for occasional tasks.
