ZWOptical offers a special autoguiding camera in the ASI 174 series. The compact enclosure and lightweight of this camera perfectly match any off-axis guider or telescope. The high quantum efficiency of the Sony IMX174 sensor, its relatively large size, and its infrared sensitivity ensure easy star guiding. The camera features an ST-4 port.
The highly sensitive monochrome camera is suitable for astrophotography, allowing planetary and lunar imaging through Lucky Imaging (Stacking). The pixel size is small enough for sufficient resolution of planets, yet large enough for deep-sky imaging of faint nebulae.
The CMOS sensor has low noise, enabling long exposures even without active cooling. Thanks to its short working distance, the camera can be used in difficult focus positions, such as with Newtonian telescopes.
- Autoguide and astrophotography camera - very versatile
- Large sensor with high sensitivity
- Very lightweight and compact
- Many accessories included
- Infrared sensitive
The camera features a transparent glass filter, which is IR-pass, providing planetary imaging capabilities when combined with an IR-cut filter. Using an IR-cut filter is useful with refractor telescopes, as the telescope's lens is optimized for visible light.
