Kombucha is a living symbiotic colony of yeasts and beneficial bacteria, which grows on a tea extract and converts sugar into organic acids and carbon dioxide through natural fermentation. It also produces a variety of other compounds that detoxify and nourish the human body, such as gluconic, lactic, and folic acids, as well as probiotics (beneficial bacteria Lactobacillus acidophilus and S. Boulardii).
