    None of the comments about low ringtone volume and lack of sound change option are valid. Perhaps these are cases of parallel imports or defective units that a normal store would logically handle with a replacement. The sounds can be changed, you can even set a song from the memory card as a ringtone, the volume is good and the sound is clear, the buttons are large and well spaced. The screen is bright and quite clear for such a phone. Overall, a normal phone of this category with plenty of customization. It gets 4/5 because I noticed that when you call it, it shows a busy signal after relatively few rings (with a question mark as to whether some setting might fix this).

    Purchased for an elderly person.
    Positives: Large buttons. The SOS function works very well, with one button sending a message immediately to up to 5 preset numbers and then starting to call them one by one until someone answers. It is not only 2G but also VoLTE (4G), so there is access to voice calls on a larger mobile network. Easy menu. Seems reliable.
    However: The specific model does not seem to be available on any official TCL website. It is difficult to find a manual that does not say much. It does not have Wi-Fi and of course cannot be used as a hotspot, only Bluetooth. If it has an SD card slot, it only recognizes files written by the phone itself. So while the phone writes in .mp3 and .3gp, if you put such files on the SD card, it sees them but when you try to open them, a message appears, file format not supported. Only a .jpg photo file was possible to open, not through the application but through the file browser. Therefore, it does not seem to be able to be used as a basic media player because it cannot open any music files.
    Overall, it seems good in the very basics, but in the few extras it does not seem to make sense because it does not work. Something more was expected from TCL. The only hope is that something may improve through a future software upgrade. However, this is unknown.
