This review is about a variation of the product

I will share my experience coming from the HJC RPHA 70, which I used for 6 years and with which I was completely satisfied.

Firstly, a positive aspect is that the visor remains open even at speeds above 60 km/h, which was not the case with the RPHA 70. However, I find that its mechanism is much stiffer when opening and closing, to the point that I fear the force required might cause some damage in the future.

The internal sun visor works very well, without any issues, and I am completely satisfied with its use.

Regarding noise, the helmet is noticeably noisier than the RPHA 70 I had. Although I installed the factory intercom Sena Smart HJC 11B, which practically does not affect the aerodynamics as it hardly protrudes at all, the additional noise remains. From my use, it seems to come mainly from the top air intake.

On the first day of purchasing the helmet and the intercom, I proceeded with the installation, removing the internal pads. There I found that one of the fasteners was defective or, in any case, significantly weaker than the others. For comparison, with the RPHA 70 I removed and reinstalled the pads almost once a month, i.e. over 50-60 times in total, without ever encountering the slightest problem.

With my new helmet, worth about €400, this failure appeared from the very first day. I contacted the dealership and, after quite a bit of communication via email and an in-person visit on the third day of use, we agreed to replace the specific internal button. However, to do this, I must either send them the helmet or take it myself and leave it there for one working day.

It may be a low-value component, but when you buy a brand-new helmet in this price category, you don't expect to face such a problem from the very second day of use.

If I were to buy a helmet today, I would probably choose another model. The extremely positive experience I had with the RPHA 70 significantly influenced my decision to buy the RPHA 72, and I also took into account the fact that it is lighter, more compact externally, and generally smaller in dimensions. Unfortunately, so far my overall experience has not lived up to the expectations I had from its predecessor.

Quality and quite quiet. It takes a bit of getting used to unlocking the visor, especially when wearing gloves... for its category, a very good choice. There is no reason to compare it with 800€ Shoei and Arai helmets.
