This current code, fully updated up to Law 5232/2025, is an essential tool for the practicing lawyer as it is the only one that includes the previous versions of the articles in a clear and functional manner for immediate reference and monitoring of all changes.

Specifically, the transition from the old to the new Penal Codes and the successive amendments of the latter raise serious issues of timeless law both in substantive and procedural terms, making it necessary to compare the relevant provisions throughout their historical development. In this work, each article is presented in its latest valid form (up to Law 5232/2025), while previous forms and the latest form of the corresponding article of the former Penal Code/1950 and Code of Criminal Procedure/1950 are also listed in chronological order, with the hope of serving as a useful tool for every legal professional. Additionally, the new edition includes selected references to provisions of special criminal laws that introduce exceptions to the general regulations of the Penal Code and the Code of Criminal Procedure.
