In the game YINSH, players start with five rings on the board. Each time a ring moves, it leaves a marker behind. The markers are white on one side and black on the other. When markers jump over a ring, they must be flipped, causing their color to change continuously. Players try to form a row of five markers with their own color facing up. If a player succeeds, they remove one of their rings as an indication that they have formed such a row. The first player to remove three of their rings wins the game. Each row formed brings the player closer to victory but also makes them weaker, as they have one less ring to play with.
