Review this product
  • This is not a calm review.
Unfortunately, the book was yet another disappointment as its content seemed below expectations. The author claims in the book's preface that he is not trying to scare readers (parents & educators), but to present the opportunities and proper use of the internet for the purpose of personal development, limiting references to dangers to just one chapter. Quite a strange claim, if one notices the book's cover depicting sharks on a mobile screen and the subtitle, where the word "dangers" precedes "challenges" and "opportunities." Of course, who would buy a book about the opportunities and benefits of the internet?
The content reminded me of the theoretical part of a thesis, with general references to the benefits of the internet, enriched with emotionally charged myths, so that, among other things, the reader may discover (!?) that they have the ability to make a video call with their grandmother. The (very general) knowledge and information provided do not justify the book's price, while they could have been expressed in a 7-8 page article.
