«ODYSSEY-ODYSSEY» by EPA is a beloved retro board game, inspired by the greatest mythical traveler of all time. Players are invited to experience the legendary adventure of Odysseus, king of Ithaca, who, after the end of the Trojan War, embarks on the incredible journey back home to his homeland and his beloved wife, Penelope. It is a game of luck and strategy that brings the mythical adventures of Greek mythology to your home, such as the Sirenes, the Cyclops, Scylla and Charybdis, and is ideal for the whole family.

A taste of the game!

The game follows the famous Odyssey of Homer, where players compete against each other to be the first to complete the journey from Troy to Ithaca. The board is a map-scroll depicting Odysseus's route, with various checkpoints corresponding to his mythical adventures. Players move their triremes by rolling a special die and try to avoid the traps and challenges the hero encounters, while using Adventure Cards to influence their own path or that of their opponents. The first player to reach Ithaca wins.

Everything you need to know to play:

Objective of the game: Be the first player to complete Odysseus's journey by reaching Ithaca.

  1. Preparation: Place the map-board in the center. Each player chooses a trireme token and places it at the starting point (Troy). Shuffle the Adventure Cards (if included) and place them face down next to the board.

  2. Movement: Players take turns rolling the special die. The roll result indicates how many steps the player's trireme moves on the map.

  3. Mythical Stations: As they travel, players land on various spots depicting Odysseus's adventures (Siren, Cyclops, Scylla & Charybdis, etc.).

    • Each such station has a special rule (e.g., lose a turn, move back, draw an Adventure Card, etc.) detailed in the full instructions.

  4. Adventure Cards: When a player lands on a special square (usually marked with a question mark or special symbol), they draw an Adventure Card. These cards can have positive (e.g., extra move) or negative effects (e.g., skip a turn, return to a previous spot).

  5. Final Goal: The first player who, with an exact roll, reaches the final destination (Ithaca) wins the game and completes the Odyssey.
