    Lenses with a focal length of 80-135mm on full frame, 50-75mm on crop frame, and 120-180mm on medium format are ideal for portrait photography as they allow for photography from a moderate distance and flatter the subject's features.

The telephoto lens HD D FA* 70-200mm f2.8 ED DC AW has been developed as the new model of the PENTAX Star series, which minimizes all aberrations to the minimum. Thanks to its aperture, it provides a maximum opening of F2.8 at all focal lengths from 70mm to 200mm.

The telephoto lens includes:

  • Aero Bright Coating II
  • HD coating for sharp images
  • Four low dispersion optical elements
  • Two ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass elements
  • New pair of Super ED glass elements

With waterproofing and protection from dust and water, it is ideal for use in extreme weather conditions. When mounted on a PENTAX K-mount SLR body, it covers a focal length from 107mm to 307mm in 35mm film format.

The lenses are coated with HD coating, ensuring higher light transmittance and lower reflectivity. It effectively compensates for chromatic aberration with the ED glass optical element. The Aero Bright Coating II technology ensures lower light reflection.

It was created as an AW (All Weather) lens resistant to adverse weather conditions with 13 sealing points.
