The M4 Sherman was an American medium tank from World War II. The first prototypes were built in 1941, and serial production took place from 1942 to 1945. In total, approximately 49,000 units of this tank in all variants were produced, making it one of the most widely manufactured battle tanks of World War II and the most important tank in the equipment of Allied armies during this conflict.
