Description

The M4 Sherman was an American medium tank from World War II. The first prototypes were built in 1941, and serial production took place from 1942 to 1945. In total, approximately 49,000 units of this tank in all variants were produced, making it one of the most widely manufactured battle tanks of World War II and the most important tank in the equipment of Allied armies during this conflict.

  • Engine: M4A1 Continental R 975 C4 with 400 horsepower
  • Armament:
    • M3 75mm gun
    • M1 76mm gun
    • M4 105mm howitzer
    • Two Browning 1919A 7.62mm machine guns
  • Design: Replaced the M2 and M3 tanks, using many components from the latter.
  • Chassis: Slightly modified chassis of the M3 Lee vehicle.
