Gyaros. A place of exile, isolation, and silence. There the journalist and activist Giorgos Koukas was held during the years of the dictatorship. His testimonies, written with the clarity of experience, bring to light the days of fear, repression, but also endurance. Testimonies that preserve the truth of an era, with the raw power of lived experience.

His daughter, Gianna Kouka, gathers these testimonies and presents them to the reader. Alongside them, she inserts her own poems and short texts, like delicate bridges connecting yesterday with today. The father's voice converses with hers, and thus personal memory becomes collective.
