Description

Description

Banja Luka tulip bulb. Maximum height 45cm. The bulb is sold loose, per piece. The tulip is considered a relatively "easy" plant. Planting is done from early October until late November. Do not remove the hard outer shell, as it helps defend against pests. The bulb is placed with the tip facing upwards and the broad part downwards, covered with soil and watered.

Blooming occurs from March to May, depending on the variety, with a flowering duration of about 15-20 days.

  • The ideal planting location is semi-shaded and protected from strong winds, avoiding areas with intense sunlight.
  • For longer flowering duration, bulbs can be divided into groups and planted with a difference of 7-10 days.
  • Planting is done at a depth equal to three times their height, with a minimum depth of 10cm for pots.

Whether planted in pots or in the ground, the most suitable location is the northern side or another spot protected from strong winds and midday sun. Sandy soil is used for better drainage, enriched with manure or compost. Planting in pots requires outdoor soil enriched with perlite.

The bulbs come from the Netherlands and are cold-resistant. For better flowering, scheduled fertilization is required once a week during growth and for 4 weeks after flowering.

After flowering, watering and fertilization continue for 2-6 weeks. When the leaves dry out, the bulb is carefully dug up and stored in a cool, shaded place, in clean sand or peat.
