The 4M crystal-growing educational kit lets children grow crystals and display them in a case with color-changing LED lights. As they carry out the experiment, children observe how particles in the crystal compound join together as the solution cools and the water evaporates, forming crystals with straight edges and flat surfaces.

The package includes instructions in Greek and two AG13 button-cell batteries for the illuminated cover. The experiment also requires hot water, a measuring cup, an apron, safety goggles and plastic gloves, which are not included.
