“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever” (Heb. 13:8). Christ never abandoned His Church, but according to His unfailing promise to the apostles, He is always with us until the end of the world (Matt. 28:20).

Especially in our days, where sin has abounded, the grace of God has superabounded (Rom. 5:20). A great proof of this is the prominent charismatic elders of our times in every country where Orthodox faith exists, and especially in our homeland on earth, Greece.

Among the charismatic elders that have flourished like palm trees in the house of the Lord (see Ps. 21:13-14) in the 20th century, stands out the blessed and most revered Elder Paisios of Mount Athos, this famous ascetic, whose fame has transcended the borders of Greece and has reached to the ends of the earth.

As his official proclamation as a saint of the Church was realized during these days by the Ecumenical Patriarchate, since I personally have known him and have great reverence for him, I considered it as a minimal expression of honor to his most sacred person the composition of his hymnological service.

I present this to the faithful with the current edition, so that through it they may praise him and ask from him for help and solutions to the various problems of their lives. I wish that his holy intercessions may cover our country and the whole world.
