Mapesil AC silicone by Mapei, with a capacity of 310ml, is a mildew-resistant, elastic one-component acetic polymerization silicone sealant, solvent-free. It cures with atmospheric moisture at normal temperatures and has a thixotropic paste form, which facilitates application on horizontal and vertical surfaces, offering durability over time and weather resistance.
The silicone provides excellent adhesion to various materials such as glass, ceramic tiles, and anodized aluminum. With the use of a primer, it achieves even better adhesion on concrete, wood, metal, painted surfaces, plastic, and rubber. It features high elasticity with movement tolerance up to 25% and incorporates mildew-resistant and antibacterial components, is waterproof yet vapor permeable.
It is used as an expansion joint sealant and is suitable for applications on tiles, sinks, kitchens, bathrooms, swimming pools, glass, frames, doors, windows, balconies, tanks, and pipes. Not recommended for sealing aquariums.
- Applied with conventional silicone guns at temperatures from 5°C to 50°C.
- Has very low emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOC) with Emicode EC1 Plus classification.
- Complies with standards EN 15651-1, EN 15651-2, EN 15651-3 and carries CE marking.
