First of all, at a price under 50 euros, it’s not worth buying some no-name product. Gardena has experience in what it does. On the plus side are the 2 schedules you can set and the display that shows you what you need, especially the battery.
It doesn’t connect to a phone, but that doesn’t bother me for home use. Also, the durability of the unit over time and in different weather conditions is worth noting

I have bought 3 because I was very satisfied with the first one I tried, you can do whatever you want in terms of programming, as you choose the day, the time, it also has 3 different programs so you can water really whenever you want. I have had them for 2 years now, in the shade of course, and they have not had any problems.

I bought it 3 days ago and tried to connect the watering hose to the programmer. However, its thread was small and water was leaking between the thread and the hose. So I had to improvise something so it wouldn't drip

While it worked fine for 2 years, the third summer (with a full and checked battery) it developed a problem with the solenoid valve without any warning, and it wouldn't open (even though the programmer was working fine). As a result, we came back to find everything dried out, including some plants with sentimental value that cannot be replaced... In hindsight, I read that Gardena products develop this solenoid valve problem after a few years, which made me completely lose trust in this company... Many will say that theirs works just fine... Mine worked too, until it stopped working...!! Once is enough to get burned...

Excellent programmer. You can program up to 3 schedules for different days, times, and durations. It also has a button on the top right to turn it on instantly for 1 minute, and if you want more, you use the rotor at the bottom right to set it for longer. It has made things much easier for me.

Previous models from Gardena developed a problem with the solenoid valve after a few years and became useless even though the programmer was working. Time will tell.

Very easy to set up compared with my previous one. Also easy to put in the battery and easy to remove the front from the part fixed on the tap which is very important when the tap goes not have very easy access.

after three years it works flawlessly. I haven't changed the batteries yet. also, in the place where it is, it is constantly hit by the sun, besides the sun, the babies hit it from time to time too. it is worth its money and more. it is quite easy to use

I liked that you can program it for whatever time you want, that it has 3 programs, and that it has a nice aesthetic. On the negative side, programming the days is a bit difficult.

I bought this one after changing from a previous model of the same company. Fortunately, the programmer fit perfectly into the base of the previous model, and I didn't need to change the entire automatic watering system, which I kept the new base as a backup. It seems that Gardena maintains the dimensions of its products so that the new models can fit onto the old ones.

The display of battery percentage is also extremely functional, something that the previous models did not have.

I used it for the first time this summer of 2024 and for a month. When I came back everything was fine! We’ll see in the future too. What I like is that the display comes off and I can adjust it elsewhere without disconnecting it from the faucet.
3rd summer, everything perfect, I like that it has a choice of days of the week, and I can easily adjust it depending on the weather! There was one time when the manual watering didn’t work, I took it out and reset it and it worked.

The different versions of the model that one may find (1891-36, 1891-20) have no difference, they just have a different code depending on the country where distribution is made. The one with code 1891-36 seems to be slightly cheaper than 1891-20, I suppose because it is an independent import. Gardena suffers from the diaphragm valve that needs to be changed every 2 to 3 years (Cost 3€), otherwise they are quite reliable while most spare parts can be found. I had previously 2 programmers 1030D (very good and reliable programmer, which is no longer available) but they gave up after 12 years, both at the same time! The gap between the screen and the body of the programmer that some complain about, no longer exists, they have fixed it. So if you receive a programmer that has this gap, it will likely be an outdated model.

Easy to install, program, and use. Reliable. After 3 years of use on a balcony, I bought another 5 and installed them in a large garden and they work just as well.

On the 2nd day of operation, the solenoid valve was not functioning. The previous Gardena programmer worked flawlessly for about 10 summers. I am very disappointed with this particular product. I expect a replacement or a refund. In case of replacement, I will update the review.

I have the older model which has been operating continuously and exposed to the weather for over 7 years. I got this model because I wanted another one, it has been working for 3 years without any problems, it is easy to program.

Easy-to-use watering programmer with good build quality and many different watering programs. If it withstands time, as two previous ones of the same brand but simpler lasted over a year each until the body cracked and started losing water, then we will be talking about an excellent purchase.

This year's purchase, but I also have another 20-year-old model from Gardena that works just fine. Also, it is elegant and quiet.

A quite expensive but reliable device. Especially for places where visits are not frequent, the use of something reliable is necessary. I once used a cheap one, went to the vacation home after six weeks, and found everything dry. Since then, I mainly use these specific ones and have never had any problems.

I have an old one of the same brand for over 10 years without a screen, very reliable but difficult to navigate. This one is very easy and understandable to navigate. I believe it will be just as reliable as the old model.

I had bought one from a supermarket but it was completely unreliable, and I threw it in the trash. The Cardena works perfectly so far. The quality and ease of programming it, light years away from the supermarket one and definitely not comparable.

It is as described, however, it has one significant drawback. When I program it to water from, for example, 23:30 to 00:30, it only accepts the first 29 minutes, that is until 23:59. In order to continue watering after 00:00, I would have to create a new program, and this is a problem because it allows for only a total of 3 programs throughout the day. In other words, you cannot water continuously with the same program from some time before 00:00 to some time after 00:00. Other than that, it is a commendable product with the quality of Gardena.

I expected to put it into operation and then evaluate the product. It is very well made, very easy to program, and I believe it will withstand the test of time. I freely recommend it.
