The ACV D-42xrn005 steering wheel control adapter connects the factory steering wheel controls to an aftermarket audio system in compatible Renault and Nissan vehicles. It is designed for vehicles with a factory VDO Update List head unit without a display on the radio, without Carminat or Tuner List, and without an amplified Cabasse system. In vehicles with a separate display, it must remain connected.

A connection cable is included for Alpine, Beat, Clarion, JVC, Kenwood, LG, Nakamichi, Panasonic, Philips, Pioneer, Sony, Zenec and other audio systems. The DIP switch settings depend on the manufacturer of the aftermarket unit and are listed in its manual.
