The SKC tap set includes three hand tools for cutting internal threads in metal surfaces. No. 1 has 8–10 chamfered threads at the tip for easy starting in raw materials, No. 2 has 3–5 for general use and for threads that do not extend to the bottom of the hole, while No. 3 is used to create threads all the way to the bottom.

To use them, first drill a hole with a rotary drill. Turn the taps using a tap wrench or tap ratchet. Cutting oil is recommended for smoother operation.
