The KENKO TelePlus MC4 AF 1.4X DGX teleconverter is placed between the camera body and the lens, featuring a set of optics that effectively increases the focal length of any lens used. This specific teleconverter results in multiplying the lens's focal length by 1.4x.
The MC4 AF 1.4X DGX teleconverter features genuine integrated circuit Gate Array (IC) technology, which maintains the integrity of the signals between the camera body and the lens. Its design includes 4 elements made from high-quality multi-coated optical glass supplied by Hoya Corporation, the world's largest manufacturer of optical glass.
Full automatic focusing (AF) with the TelePlus MC4 AF 1.4X is possible when using camera lenses with a maximum aperture of F4 or brighter. However, automatic focus may work correctly only if there is sufficient lighting and contrast on the subject for the camera’s AF sensors to activate. (Manual focus may be required when using lenses with smaller maximum f-stop values).
The DGX TelePlus teleconverters feature updated circuitry for more accurate capturing of exif data. In the exif exposure data (metadata recorded with a digital image), DGX teleconverters log the equivalent aperture and focal length of the attached lens plus the teleconverter. Optically and mechanically, they are identical to the previous high-quality DG series teleconverters.
