Intravenous butterflies in general: Sterile and single-use medical devices with butterfly needles connected to a flexible tube. The tube has a Luer Lock or Luer slip connector at the proximal end, allowing secure connection to the infusion line. They are used for blood collection and quick small volume infusions, primarily in pediatric patients or patients with spasms.
