The zipper is covered for added water repellency and protection from abrasion and dirt. The vertical strap on the front keeps the compression straps of the backpack neatly in place over the compartment, allowing them to properly compress the pouch as well. These can be used as attachment points for bungee cords, carabiners, and other similar items.
A 25 mm mesh loop and a D-ring at the top of the back interior wall allow you to secure small and important items. The flat rear compartment offers basic organization for smaller objects. The base and the lower half of the sides are reinforced with 210D polyamide for additional abrasion resistance. A ring provides drainage for any water that may enter the pouch.
