The CP2102 USB to UART TTL is a small control bridge for upgrading RS-232 designs to USB, with minimal components and PCB space, offering maximum performance with full USB 2.0 functionality. The board features a USB transceiver, an oscillator, 1KB programmable EEPROM, and asynchronous serial data with full modem control signals. All of this is packed into a small 42x15mm package, without requiring external USB components or power sources for its operation.
The device is powered via USB and uses intelligent software that includes all RS-232 control and synchronization signals. This means you don’t have to worry about software upgrades; simply connect the device directly to a USB port on your computer, it appears as a virtual COM port, and you can upgrade your designs from RS-232 to USB. Basic driver installation is required to prepare the device, after which it can use various standard Baud rates between 300bps and 1Mbits for serial communications.
