The classic family cast iron Dutch oven by Origin Outdoors, ideal for use directly over a fire, in a wood-fired oven, on the BBQ, or even in the fireplace. The lid of the Dutch oven can be turned upside down (thanks to its 3 support legs) and used as a griddle or skillet, over fire or coals.
When placed on the Dutch oven, it creates the perfect cooking conditions, as all the heat is trapped inside and cooks the food evenly from all sides. The lid also features a special hole for a food thermometer.
The Dutch oven is already pre-seasoned and ready for use, meaning it has been coated with vegetable oil to create the proper non-stick layer so food does not stick.
Cast iron cookware has excellent ability to maintain stable heat during cooking. Cooking in the Dutch oven is generally slow: foods are cooked slowly, without temperature fluctuations, retaining their juices and resulting in a very flavorful outcome.
Additionally, cooking in cast iron cookware is generally much healthier, as there are no artificial chemical compounds like Teflon.
