Lefranc & Bourgeois 12-Hour Charbonnel Gold Size

Turpentine-based gold size for applying gold leaf in icon painting. Traditional 12-hour size for gold leaf. Gold leaf can be applied 12 hours after application.

  • High-quality, durable size
  • Apply gold leaf after 12 hours
  • Mix very thoroughly before use (very important)
  • Allow the gilded surface to dry for at least one week before applying any protective medium (varnish or other)
  • Can be diluted by up to 10% with turpentine.
  • If diluted, drying time may be reduced
  • Clean brushes after use with turpentine
  • Lead-free
  • If applying to a porous surface, preparing it with shellac is recommended
