Mitzi, the spoiled only daughter of industrialist Gavriiloglou, orchestrates her own kidnapping to escape the wealthy suitor her father wants to marry her off to. At the same time, she aims to collect the reward for her discovery from her much poorer boyfriend Andreas. However, for her bad luck, Lisa, a poor and homeless street vendor who strikingly resembles Mitzi, reads the news of her disappearance and goes to meet Mitzi's father to help him find his daughter.
