Description

Description

In a Serbian town in Vojvodina, a young, charismatic monk comes to replace the old deacon who is now leaving the picturesque church of the Theotokos along with its distinctive church choir.

Devoted to his sacred mission, he will serve and inspire his parishioners, among whom is the pious and ascetic Anna Neditsyeva, for whom music and the Church intertwine life.

Through the camaraderie and cooperation within the temple and the choir, a profound spiritual and emotional bond will develop between the two young people, which, however, will take on a romantic dimension as a man-woman relationship along the way.

The work explores divine and human love, monastic life and trials, as well as art and music. It examines love in its different manifestations, closely observing the emotional turmoil and, above all, the conscious processes of the two individuals, especially in light of monastic practice and ecclesiastical life.

It explores the inner dialogue and the complexities within the microcosm of the heart, as well as within the microcosm of provincial society.
