But how thin is the line that separates perfection from nightmare, and how can her past become the quicksand that will slowly and gradually pull her into darkness?
Darkness or love?
What’s the difference, really?
A book that flows very quickly, that’s for sure, and a story that builds a veil of mystery that won’t let you rest until you find out what’s hidden behind it.
Unfortunately though, the mystery wasn’t enough for me…
But let me start from the beginning and say things from my own humble point of view:
I found the writing very “choppy,” which makes the book very easy to read, but personally I would have liked some parts to be more “vivid” to get me into the mood.
I didn’t get the depth I wanted from the characters and I couldn’t feel their chemistry to understand the great love that wounded them and brought them to the obsessive point of our story.
I didn’t feel swept away by the atmosphere or the “darkness” of the book, and in some parts I felt a bit uncomfortable as I couldn’t connect with scenes and situations.
Finally, I found several of the plot elements a bit “convenient” and others a bit predictable. The plot twist could have “hit me hard,” but unfortunately I felt like I was walking on very flat paths, so I didn’t feel the necessary takeoff before the crash. I missed the suspense.
But you know what?
It’s okay.
I’ll read something else by the author, as I only hear the best things and I’m sure that one or some of her many stories will suit me too

Η Λίλυ μοιάζει να τα έχει όλα λυμένα στην ζωή της. Ένα όμορφο σπίτι, έναν υπέροχο και αξιοζήλευτο σύζυγο, καλούς φίλους….
Μα πόσο λεπτή είναι η γραμμή που χωρίζει το τέλειο από τον εφιάλτη και πως μπορεί το παρελθόν της να γίνει η κινούμενη άμμος που αργά και σταδιακά θα την ρουφήξει στο σκοτάδι;
Σκοτάδι ή έρωτας;
Ποια η διαφορά άραγε;
Ένα βιβλίο που κυλάει πολύ γρήγορα, αυτό είναι το μόνο σίγουρο και μια ιστορία που χτίζει ένα πέπλο μυστηρίου που δεν θα ησυχάσεις μέχρι να μάθεις τι κρύβει από πίσω.
Δυστυχώς όμως το μυστήριο δεν ήταν αρκετό για μένα…
Αλλά ας τα πιάσω από την αρχή και ας πω τα πράγματα από την δική μου ταπεινή οπτική γωνία:
Βρήκα την γραφή πολύ «κοφτή», κάτι που κάνει το βιβλίο πολύ ευκολοδιάβαστο αλλά προσωπικά θα ήθελα μερικά σημεία να ήταν πιο «γλαφυρά» για να με βάλουν στο κλίμα.
Δεν πήρα το βάθος που θα ήθελα από τους χαρακτήρες και δεν μπόρεσα να νιώσω την χημεία τους για να καταλάβω τον μεγάλο έρωτα που τους τραυμάτισε και τους έφτασε στο εμμονικό σημείο της ιστορίας μας.
Δεν ένιωσα να παρασύρομαι από την ατμόσφαιρα ή το «σκοτάδι» του βιβλίου ενώ σε μερικά σημεία ένιωσα λίγο άβολα καθώς δεν μπόρεσα να συνδεθώ με σκηνές και καταστάσεις.
Τέλος θεώρησα αρκετά από τα στοιχεία που ήθελε να μας δώσει η πλοκή λίγο «βολικά» και άλλα λίγο αναμενόμενα. Το plot twist θα μπορούσε να «μου σκάσει άσχημα» αλλά δυστυχώς ένιωσα να βαδίζω σε πολύ φλατ μονοπάτια με αποτέλεσμα να μην νιώσω την απαραίτητη απογείωση πριν την κατεδάφιση. Μου έλλειψε το σασπένς
Άλλα ξέρετε τι;
Δεν πειράζει
Θα ξαναδιαβάσω κάτι από την συγγραφέα, καθώς μόνο τα καλύτερα ακούω και είμαι σίγουρη πως κάποια ή κάποιες από τις πολλές ιστορίες της θα μου ταιριάξει και εμένα
