Description

A guide to combating overeating, with instructions and suggestions to avoid binge eating episodes, SO that one can remain faithful to their dietary program.

Based on real experiences and true incidents, the author explains in a direct and understandable way everything one needs to know before and during the diet, so that if they have a troubled relationship with food, they can regain the lost ability to say "enough" and find the strength to remain steady and faithful to the diet.

An important guide aimed at both those undergoing treatment and therapists dealing with eating disorders and obesity.

They wrote about the book:

"An exceptional work, with a scientific approach and analysis. A useful tool for both nutritionists and people dealing with eating disorders who want to be informed about what is happening to them and to get practical advice on how to cope." –Phyllis Gavriilidou, author, podcaster, learning and productivity consultant

"Nutritional Intelligence is a book that anyone who has ever felt confused or burdened by food or even the thought of food should read. It contains all the necessary information to understand what balanced nutrition means and how to achieve it." –Dr. Margarita Angeliki Schina, Clinical Psychologist, Master Practitioner on Eating Disorders

"Evangelos Zoubaneas, with this book, offers a revolutionary and highly effective approach to eating disorders. It teaches the principles of human metabolism and biochemistry to help patients gain control over their habits. The interventions enhance the physiology of the human body and respect the personality of each individual facing issues of overeating and obesity. I highly recommend this book as the best companion for any patient struggling with eating disorders. A valuable tool for professionals dealing with patients with eating disorders." –Dr. Dimitris Tsoukalas, MD, PhD, Scientific Director of the medical group Metabolomic Medicine®, member of the World Academy of Sciences, president of the European Institute of Molecular Medicine

This book is for you if…

… you want to deeply understand the causes of eating disorders and are looking for practical ways to regain control of your diet. It is also useful for health professionals dealing with eating disorders and obesity

Read an excerpt:

«The maximum endurance on a low-calorie diet program for a person suffering from an eating disorder is on average two months. The next step is to stop the diet and quickly regain the same or even more weight than before starting the specific diet. With this tactic, every two months they stop the diet or engage again with some new magical slimming method.

This is not related to a lack of strong will but to the disorganization of the body's natural defense mechanisms. It is not because, after two months, the motivation for further slimming may have ceased, but because the magical keys that would lock the beast of bulimia in its cage have been lost. The beast will always be there, every day and every hour.

Every time a meal is missed or every time they want to eat something more than what the diet recommends, it grows behind their back, waiting for the first moment of weakness to devour them. If bulimia is handled recklessly, if one does not learn how to manage it, if one does not understand the mechanisms and techniques required to tame it, then this beast is very likely to grow old with them and one may end up being just another person who spent their life on failed diets.»
