The Bleuu kids' rugs are handmade and made from GOTS certified organic cotton. This certification requires at least 70% organic fibers, but Bleuu has chosen to use 100% organic cotton. The underside of the rug is also made from cotton.
Unlike conventional cotton, organic cotton uses natural, non-GMO fertilizers, is grown without pesticides or insecticides, and uses 91% less water than conventional cotton. The dyes are 100% natural.
The pile height is 1 cm, providing comfort while also minimizing dust accumulation. The French Bleuu rugs have an exceptional density of 4kg of organic cotton/m2, which is 3 to 5 times greater than most commercial rugs. This cotton density provides great softness and comfort.
