The Osmofilter RO1056 reverse osmosis system filters water in 5 stages and produces up to 8 litres of filtered water per hour. The water is stored in a small tank because it takes time to produce, and passes through the fifth stage when dispensed. It requires electricity to operate the compressor.
The first stage traps suspended particles such as sand, rust and sediment, while the next two activated carbon stages remove chemicals, unwanted tastes and odours, as well as chlorine. The reverse osmosis membrane retains salts, nitrates, chromium, arsenic, microbes and bacteria, which are flushed down the drain. The final activated carbon stage improves the taste and removes residual chlorine and trihalomethanes.
