This book isolates and highlights a collection of one hundred and fourteen feature films that, in one way or another, have marked the overall body of Greek cinema.

The criteria for selecting these films were influenced by a multitude of factors, with the most significant being the impact they had in their time, as well as their historical resonance or representation within their respective genres as films. Thus, alongside classic films that consistently occupy the top preferences of specialists (The Dragon, Evdokia, The Company, etc.) or films of recognized artistic value or corresponding popular appeal, as evidenced by high ticket sales, or even films that sparked intense discussions or scandals, there are also films that simply signify an era or a genre.
