The new SIP (Server Interface Pod) converter is compatible with virtual media, CAC (Common Access Card) cards, and USB 2.0 connection. It features a high-resolution USB2 module that works with VM (Virtual Media) and CAC smart cards. The SIP interface offers full bandwidth (12 Mb/s), allowing administrators to save time with remote software installation and updates.
Additionally, the SIP USB2/VM/CAC interface allows multiple levels of authentication required in secure environments. Like other Dell SIP interfaces, it converts keyboard, monitor, and mouse signals received from the server and transmits them over a single CAT 5 cable, eliminating common issues in managing KVM device cabling.
The SIP USB2/VM/CAC interface is powered by the server and includes a "Keep Alive" feature that ensures the server operates correctly regardless of whether it is connected to a KVM switch. The product has been tested and approved for use with Dell computing systems, ensuring compatibility with KVM switches.
