Description

Description

The modern Ecumenical Movement was born out of the need for Christian Churches and Confessions to first overcome the disagreements, hostilities, and misunderstandings they carried from the past, second to serve humanity in the conditions of contemporary life, and third to jointly provide a confession of Christian faith to modern society. The driving force behind these processes is certainly God's love for the salvation of all people and the Church's struggle to maintain unity, following the Lord's exhortation: "that they all may be one; as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me."

This work therefore attempts to explore issues such as the following: What is the synodal function of the Orthodox Church in the 20th century? What is the role and value of the Pan-Orthodox Pre-Synodal Conferences? What is the significance of the witness of the Holy and Great Council today? How should the Orthodox Church engage in dialogue and collaborate with other Christian Churches and Confessions? What is the ecclesiological dynamic of the Eucharistic community? What are the theological prerequisites for the inclusion of the Churches? What is the prospect of the ecclesiastical principle of economy and dialogue for life within the framework of Ecumenical dialogue?
