MaxContact is a special manufacturing process by ASUS that effectively expands the surface area of the heat spreader located on top of the GPU by 5%, compared to traditional designs. This improves temperatures by up to 2°C, in combination with an extended heatsink array and powerful Axial-tech fans.

Large vapor chamber

A vapor chamber and a large heatsink effectively absorb the heat of the GeForce RTX 5080 GPU, helping to ensure top performance in various scenarios.

Axial-tech Upgrades

The axial-tech fans rotate with dual ball bearings and push up to 23% more air than standard fans.

New Directions

The two outer fans rotate counterclockwise to reduce turbulence and improve air dispersion. All three fans stop when GPU temperatures are below 50°C, for quieter operation during light tasks. They start again above 55°C, following a speed curve that balances performance and acoustics.

Exoskeleton with ventilation

A high-quality cast cover and an aluminum backplate help prevent the PCB board from bending and feature large vents for further heat dissipation.

Auto-Extreme Technology

An automated manufacturing process that sets new standards in the industry, allowing all soldering to be completed in a single pass. This reduces the thermal stress on the components and avoids the use of harsh cleaning chemicals, resulting in fewer environmental impacts, lower energy consumption during manufacturing, and overall a more reliable product.

Ultimate GPU Tuning Utility

ASUS GPU Tweak III is more intuitive and feature-rich than ever. A revamped interface offers greater accessibility by incorporating essential functions into a central dashboard, while the voltage-frequency tuner has been revised to make overclocking even easier. Additional goodies such as 0dB fan technology, automatic profile switching, a fully customizable display, and logging capabilities ensure you get the most out of your graphics card.

Develop Your Dreams with the Magic of AI

MuseTree is an AI image creation application designed to ignite your creativity. Effortlessly create and manage images and visual ideas, unlocking endless new inspirations. With its intuitive visual interface, creating stunning images has never been easier!

This particular graphics card is a beast! 4 games running simultaneously with Ultra graphics without any stutter and the temperature stays between 45-52 degrees Celsius.

You get what you pay for.

Incredible card with great OC headroom. Temperatures max out at 63°C with overclock and 111% power limiter, after 1 hour of 3D Mark loops. In Steel Nomad with a 7800x3d it reached 9500 points, which shows that the 9800x3d would give it some extra percentage. Silent throughout the RPM range but with some coil whine present from about 300 watts and above (80% utilization). Generally, Asus has coil whine so I wasn’t surprised. For me, the extra large second HDMI output is a big plus, just like on the Astral. The numbers I’ve gotten in games are what we see in TechPowerUp reviews but with manual overclocking, consistently 5-6% higher. Everything on ultra with RT and path tracing had no issues in any game I tried (cp77, black myth, control). I’ll also try benchmarks for LLMs and add the results. If we leave aside the value aspect and just compare implementations, it’s definitely one of the most premium, competing with more expensive models like the Vanguard, Suprim, Astral, losing only slightly. I would recommend it in the current 5080 market, for someone who wants a vapor chamber and good overclocking.

    Edit 13/2/26:
I upgraded my processor to a 9950x3d and saw an additional increase in games of about 10%, and in Steel Nomad from 9500, OC, 7800x3d – 9900, OC, 9950x3d and stock 8700, which confirmed my suspicions about the uplift.
Overall, the value of upgrading the processor is worth it for me, as for the same performance I had before, the card now draws about 50 watts less with temperatures 5 degrees lower. If you don’t care about efficiency, expect about a 7-10% uplift from pairing 9800x3d/9950x3d instead of 7800x3d.
