Volume 4: Variations on Songs and Dances
Following the successful new publication of Scheidt's Tabulatura nova, the Supplementary Works of Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck for Keyboard Instruments represent the second major work by Harald Vogel at Breitkopf & Härtel. The renowned performer of 16th and 17th-century organ music is supported by Pieter Dirksen, a Dutch harpsichordist and Sweelinck researcher. Both editors guarantee the highest level of expertise in terms of content.
The transcription of Sweelinck's notation forms (staff notation and letter tablature) is eagerly anticipated, as it preserves for the first time the uniqueness of the primary sources. This has not been considered in any edition so far.
The edition of the Supplementary Works for Keyboard Instruments is a scientific-practical edition.
