Technical specifications: The vacuum pump is a multifunctional device designed for vehicle diagnostic systems and technologies that operate based on pressure or vacuum. It is equipped with accessories that allow its use on almost any engine or system. The YT 0674 pump features a switch that, depending on its position, allows the creation of either vacuum or pressure. Moving the switch towards the pump's outlet will activate the vacuum pump. Pressure is achieved by pushing the switch towards the handle. Measurement range -1-3 bar.
Purpose / Use: The use of the pump includes diagnostics of these systems:
- Engine control unit: - Barometric pressure sensor (BARO) - PVC - Exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) - Manifold absolute pressure sensor (MAP)
- Ignition control device: - Central advance via spark - Delay valves: SDV, RCV
- Brake system: - Classic brakes - ABS - Compressed air brakes - Brake lines - Brake servo
- Other systems: - Air conditioning - Cruise control - Fuel tank and fuel system - Door locking
MAP sensor diagnostic system:
- Assemble the pump system and the reservoir, similar to bleeding brake calipers, and then connect it to the vacuum sensor.
- Press the pump handle until the gauge shows 0.5 bar. The pump should complete the process and the gauge should be monitored.
- During operation, the MAP sensor sends feedback signals to the control computer. The signal frequency ranges between 85 Hz and 160 Hz, depending on vacuum levels.
Caliper system:
- Ensure the expansion tank is filled with brake fluid to the nominal volume.
- Bleeding is performed in the order: - Master cylinder, if equipped with a bleed valve - Brake calipers, from the nearest to the master cylinder to the farthest.
- Connect the short hose to the fitting at the bottom of the pump reservoir cap.
- Close the pump reservoir cap.
- Connect the long hoses to the fittings on the cap. One end of a long hose is connected to the sub-pump, and the other to the caliper bleed valve (nipple).
- Press the pump handle 10-15 times to create a vacuum in the pump reservoir.
- Loosen the bleed valve 1/4 - 1/2 turn so that the pump reservoir fills with fluid to a height of about 5 cm. Tighten the bleed valve.
- Remove the pump from the bleed valve. The bleeding process is complete.
- Before repeating the process for air bleeding, ensure the pump reservoir is filled with brake fluid and that the brake fluid level in the brake system is at the nominal level.
