The K39 roof bars for the 2003–2009 Mazda 3 (BK) five-door attach directly to the vehicle body using special mounting systems designed for this car, which has no factory-fitted longitudinal roof rails. They are made of steel with a protective plastic coating, while the metal parts have a rubber-textured finish to protect against corrosion. To attach accessories such as bike racks, roof boxes and ski racks, a standard U-shaped mounting system at least 30 mm wide is required.
