The polyphenolic EVOO (extra virgin olive oil) Evolia is a single-variety organic extra virgin olive oil.

Every year, it is awarded in international competitions, as it belongs to the gold and platinum category of health-protective olive oils (with total phenols >1000 mg/kg). According to analyses, it contains more than 2000mg/kg of total phenols.

This specific polyphenolic EVOO belongs to the category of olive oils that bear the HEALTH CLAIM and protect against the oxidation of blood lipids according to EU regulation 432/2012.

The substances oleocanthal and oleacin have significant biological activity and have been attributed with anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, cardioprotective, and neuroprotective properties (certified by the Department of Pharmacognosy and Chemistry of Natural Products of the School of Pharmacy of Athens). The daily consumption of 20 g from the analyzed sample provides more than 5 mg of tyrosol and hydroxytyrosol derivatives.

This olive oil, as the "juice of the olive," is a functional food that touches the boundaries of medicine, as it has a positive effect on human health by protecting against various diseases and acting preventively mainly on oxidative stress and various forms of cancer (breast-prostate-colon-liver-melanoma), due to its anti-angiogenic action (oleocanthal OC).
